Shelduck Tadorna tadorna

The species is a common brfeeder along the coasts of south Sweden. At the time of the september count, most have left the country. Small numbers stay for the winter, but in mild winters some Shelduck arrive back to Sweden before the midwinter count. At the country.wide survey in 2015 112 were counted. September indices showed a decreasing longterm trend, whereas Midwinter counts mererly fluctuated. The highest total counted in January was 300 individuals.
